Patchwork Bench- December 2018
Back by popular demand. A bench! Yes!! We are making functional furniture. This piece will look great in any room of your house.
(36) 4.5" squares from a variety of quilting cottons (patchwork top) or 1.5 yards of 45" wide quilting cotton fabric (single piece top)
1.5 yards of 54" wide medium to heavy weight cotton (home dec. weight, denim, canvas, etc.) for sides or 1.5 yards of 45" wide quilting cotton
4 yards of Shapeflex 101 fusible interfacing
1 yard of 90” polyester or cotton batting
copy of Handmade Style by Anna Graham (optional)
The cost of this workshop includes the plywood, high-density foam, adhesive, bench legs, mounting hardware and tools required to construct the bench.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Prerequisites: Sewing 101, Serger 101, or entire Sewing Skills series. Must be comfortable using a rotary cutter and have previously completed a multi-piece commercial pattern project.
Sessions: This is a weekend intensive sewing workshop. Due to the complexity of this sewing project and the condensed nature of the class, all participants MUST arrive with their fabrics already picked out.
This class will meet on:
Friday, November 30, 2018 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm- We will cut out and begin sewing our fabric pieces.
Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm- We finish sewing and construct our bench.
IMPORTANT: Beginning October 1, 2018, all classes will be held in our new studio located at 6819 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.
