Sew a Summer Dress- June (intermediate)
Make yourself an easy summer dress. You choose the pattern- Washi or Webster dress patterns. Skills covered in this class include: darts, pleats, elastic shirring, seam finishes, and hemming.
The Washi dress is a sweet and flattering dress featuring a cut-out scoop neckline, an above-the-knee hemline, pockets, and shirring in the back for an easy, comfortable fit. Learn how to make this smart and stylish dress that's perfect for summer! Materials: 2.5 yards of cotton fabric, 2.25 yards of single fold bias tape, 1/2 yard of lightweight fusible interfacing, elastic thread for shirring, and coordinating thread. Pattern included.
Turn heads in the Webster Dress! Featuring a hi-low hem and playful crossover back, this elegant design can be made as either a tunic or a knee-length dress. The V-neck bodice is bra-friendly and semi-fitted, while the flowy, unfitted skirt is perfect for dancing. Intended for lightweight wovens. Materials: 2.25 to 3.75 yards of cotton fabric: chambray, rayon, or linen, and coordinating thread. Pattern included.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Prerequisites: Sewing 101, Sewing Skills series, or Serger 101. Must have previously completed a commercial pattern project.
Sessions: This class meets on Wednesday, June 13, 20, & 27, 2018 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
